ENGLISHIntroduction of the literature piece in August began with students creating a class list of fairy tales they know and their previous knowledge about the same. They tuned in to the unit ‘Stories’ by watching a video of the story - ‘Princess and the Pea’. This was followed by discussion of the story through a brainstorming session. Students became familiar with the story structure, characters, setting of the story, with focus on writing a story in the form of a play. They attempted to write an excerpt of the story – ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ in the form of a play script. During the Language, S.St and Performing arts integration week 19th-23rd August, the students explored creating an Acrostic Poem on ‘Occupation’ which was integrated with Social Studies. They later presented their artistically written poems. In Grammar concept, students learnt the usage of tenses, adjectives and degrees of adjectives which was reinforced through workbook exercises. They also learnt what is ‘Palindrome’ and juggled with words and sentences. |
